The local Tourist Office publishes a good map (3 euros), and in English some suggested walking itineries. Some advice snowshoes in winter which can be rented from any of the ski hire shops. The itineries are called Pedestrian Footpaths. The recomended walks are also published on the thollonlesmemises.com web site go to walking under Summer or Winter.

Probably the best walk  in summer is to go to the top of the Memises either walking or by cable car (open mid December to Mid March and July & August) and walk the Memises ridge, stunning views over Lake Leman. You can continue down the Col de Creussaz where you arrive at a restuarant (good lunch) and back along the lower path (this runs parellel underneath the ridge) to the foot of the telecabine station.

Most walks around the lake focus on the promenades in the towns. From Bouveret there is a series of walks and cycle rides over the Rhone towards Villeneuve going through the national park. These continue towards Montreux and then on to Levey passing Chinon Castle.
